Characteristics:

From the salt waters of Japan, each oyster requires a two-year process to bring a pearl to life. A very small portion of oysters will produce perfectly round, shiny specimens.

Akoya mother-of-pearl is the highest quality pearl.

Ceylon legends say that the tears of Adam and Eve created a lake giving birth to pearls.

Virtues:

They are used for their spiritual virtues and their energetic power. In the East, they are attributed powers related to fertility and an aphrodisiac character.
